No. T-11011/67/2009-EI(SDA)/28, dt. 28th September 2011:
In accordance with the provision of the Energy Conservation Act 2001, Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) have notified in the Gazette of India vide notification No. 2/11(5)/03-BEE.3, dt. 6.7.2009 stating that the star labeling on Distribution Transformer up to 200 KVA of 11 KV is mandatory. Therefore, for all new installation of Distribution Transformer up to 200 KVA, only star labeled transformer should be used hence forth.

Any new electrical installations requiring Distribution Transformers up to 200 KVA of 11 KV will not be given clearance for energising if star labeled transformers are not used.
